 About SAPH
The Saudi Advisory Group for Pulmonary Hypertension (SAPH) is a non-profit, national group whose executive committee members receive no salary. It is registered and operates under the STS. Its central office is located at STS offices in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi Advisory Group for Pulmonary Hypertension (SAPH) is a medical and research body that is considered as a part of the Saudi Thoracic Society (STS) and is devoted to increase the awareness and knowledge of pulmonary vascular diseases (PVD), and to facilitate advances in the treatment of affected people within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
 SAPH Objectives
- To investigate the local incidence, prevalence, and pathobiology of PVD in Saudi Arabia
- To identify local characteristics of the illness including its morbidity and mortality
- To develop national guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of PVD
- To provide expertise that will address issues related to the education and training of healthcare professionals in the field of PVD
- To focus on improving the treatment of PVD, by promoting basic and clinical research
- To promote public awareness through different means including print and electronic media, and public seminars

 About SAVTE
The Saudi Association for Venous Thrombo-Embolism (SAVTE) is a medical and research body that is considered as a part of the Saudi Thoracic Society (STS) and is devoted to increase the awareness and knowledge of Venous Thrombo-Embolism (VTE), and to facilitate advances in the treatment of affected people, as well as the routine implementation on thrombo- embolism prophylaxis measures among Health Care Providers (HCP) within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
 SAVTE Objectives
- To perform joint multicenter research on the local incidence, prevalence, and pathphysiology of VTE in Saudi Arabia.
- To identify and investigate the unique characteristics of the illness including its morbidity and mortality.
- To focus on improving prevention & treatment of VTE, by promoting research, and assisting the development and conduct of clinical trials according to the highest standards for clinical research.
- To provide expertise to areas with healthcare disparities that will address issues related to the education and training of healthcare professionals in the field of VTE by means of local lectures, workshops, symposia and medical meetings.
- To disseminate knowledge and information on VTE to educate practicing physicians on the best and updated information by producing a local guidelines on diagnosis and treatment of VTE.
- To establish effective preventive measures and therapies, accessible to the affected patients using well prepared brochures and other media.
- To provide consultative services to health agencies and industry regarding advancing the treatment of VTE..

 About SINA
The Saudi Initiative for Asthma (SINA) was created by a group of physicians from Saudi Arabia who are expert in the field of Asthma and working under the umbrella of the Saudi Thoracic Society (STS). SINA is a non-profit group and its main office is within the STS office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Through a comprehensive approach for asthma, there is an expected increase in the awareness and knowledge in many aspects of the disease including research, education for patients, healthcare workers and public, and creation of links between different parties interested in asthma.
 SINA Mission
To provide a comprehensive approach for asthma in Saudi Arabia. Such approach should increase the awareness and knowledge in many aspects of the disease including research, education for patients, healthcare workers and public, and creation of links between different parties interested in asthma.
 Function of SINA
The SINA group will ensure that its goals are achieved by creating different task forces. The task forces will have the following roles:
- The SINA group executive committee will choose one member as a leader for each taskforce.
- The leader of the task force will choose the members of the taskforce responsible for the implementation of its functions outside of the Executive Committee.
- There is neither a specific number of the taskforces, nor a limited number of members within the task force. Furthermore, the duration of each task force’s term depends on the type of activity entrusted to it.
- Each leader should provide annual report to the Executive Committee of SINA Group.

 SSMG Objectives
- To investigate the local incidence, prevalence of OSA in Saudi Arabia.
- To identify local characteristics of the illness including its morbidity and mortality.
- To develop national guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of OSA.
- To provide expertise that will address issues related to the education and training of healthcare professionals in the field of Sleep Medicine.
